Jason Pittman joined the team at Insite Commercial Realty in 2019 to advise on commercial real estate projects involving an operating business. With over 20 years of experience in consulting, investment real estate, business brokerage, and small business ownership, Jason offers a wealth of knowledge to his clients. Jason is also President of ExitAdvisor, an advisory focused on helping founders increase value and sellability of their business.
Business owners work with Jason to increase the value and self-reliance of their companies so that one day they can successfully sell or exit. His unique focus is on educating and advising clients to *prepare* their businesses for an exit, whether they want to sell or not.
Why? Because the same qualities that make a business really sellable are the same qualities that make owning a business fun, not to mention simple to transition to family. It also makes the business a safer asset to have if life happens to throw you any sudden curveballs.
When the time comes to exit, Jason helps owners transition their companies confidentially, often without the general public ever knowing. Clients often engage him years in advance of their exit to help them identify and implement specific changes to ensure their company is self-reliant, scalable, attractive to acquirers, and ready to transition to the next generation.
Areas of focus are owner-operated manufacturing and healthcare related businesses with revenue between $1M – $20M. But since starting in 2005, Jason’s advised or represented a wide variety of traditional main street businesses and niche lower middle-market companies, from speed-dating to medical cannabis, to defense suppliers. No matter what industry a business happens to be in, he has valuable experiences to draw on when helping clients prepare an exit plan.
When not working, Jason is spending time with his wife and three children, traveling, gardening, or taking on DIY projects around the house.
